2018 Disney Dining Plan Updates!

Updated: Mar 14, 2018

So first off here is a little bit of a refresh of what the dining plan is. The dining plan is basically a way for you to pre-pay for your meals during your vacation. The number of dining plans has not changed from 2017 but what they offer has so let’s break that down.

There are again three Dining Plans to choose from they are, the Quick Service Plan, the Disney Dining Plan (which I call the Basic Dining Plan) and the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan. The new Dining Plan is only for those who are 3 and up, so if you have a child that is under 3 they will not be included in your dining plan. Also, the new dining plans include alcohol and specialty drinks which I will get into that a little later.

The Quick Service Plan offers guests 2 snacks and 2 quick service meals per person per night of your stay. The quick service plans also includes a resort refillable mug that is only good for your home resort. The price per person depends on your age. Children ages 3-9 is $21.75 per person and then 10+ is $52.49 per person.

The Basic Disney Dining Plan offers guests 1 quick service meal, 1 table service meal and 2 snacks per person per night of your stay. This plan also includes the resort refillable mug. The price per person for children ages 3-9 is $25.80 and 10+ is $75.49 per person.

The Deluxe Disney Dining plane offers guests any combination of 3 quick service or table service meals as well as the two snacks and a resort refillable mug. The price per person for children ages 3-9 is $39.90 and 10+ is $116.24 per person.

So, I know you’re probably thinkin’ well Nicole what’s so new and different for this year? Well besides the price increase specialty drinks are now included as a beverage option for your quick service and table service meals. Guests that are 21 years or older can choose to have an alcoholic beverage with their meal and those are not 21 or anyone really can choose to have a non-alcoholic specialty drink. The specialty drinks are things like milkshakes, smoothies, hot chocolates and again those are available for everyone that has a dining plan not just the ones that are under 21. Also, I do want to note the specialty drink option is for a single serving only. Meaning if you choose to get an alcoholic beverage with your meal, you can only get one with the new option. I just wanted to make you aware of that before you go and sit down for a meal and think you can get two drinks.

Here are some quick reminders on how to use the dining plan:

1. The amount of meals/snacks offered to each guest, depends on how many nights you are staying on property.

2. You HAVE to stay on property to get any of the Dining Plans.

3. Everyone staying in the same room has to have the same type of Dining Plan and everyone has to have a Dining Plan.

4. If you decide to get the dining plan, you have to have it for your whole length of stay.
