2018 Spring & Summer Walt Disney World Discounts!

The first of many discounts for Walt Disney World for 2018 have been released! And those of you that are looking to score a good deal on your room rate and a discount on dining during the spring and summer months NEED to pay attention! Be sure to take some notes and get ready to save on your next Disney vacation!

The first discounted offer that was released is the “Soak up some Sun and Fun” offer where you can save up to 20% on your room rate at select Walt Disney World resort hotels. Before I get you excited about what benefits you’re going to get by booking with this offer, let me tell you what the travel dates are. Your vacation dates must fall within the dates of Feb. 18th – April 14th with a booking window of now through March 7th. And April 15th – June 10th with a booking window of now through April 7th. What this means is you’ll be able to receive a 20% off discount from Feb. 18th thru June 10th but there is a booking window cutoff for the select dates.

So, what does the “Soak up some Sun and Fun” discount offer exactly? Well how this discount works is you will receive a room rate discount for a vacation package with a minimum 5-day stay at an On-site Resort. And what the up to 20% means is your room rate discount is based on the type of resort that you stay at. You are only going to get the full 20% if you stay at a Deluxe resort or higher. What I don’t want for you do to is get blindsided and think that you’re going to get the full 20% discount when you book a value or moderate resort because you’re not.

I think it comes out to be a 10% for value and a 15% for moderate. Which hey its some type of a discount which is better than nothing. ALSO, another hidden feature about this offer is only a select number of rooms are available for booking at the various resorts. Meaning that there may only be let’s say 15 rooms available for a select resort and once they’re booked then you won’t be able to book a room at that particular resort with this discount. The resorts that are not available for the room rate discount are any 3 bedroom villas, the Copper Creek Cabins at Wilderness Lodge or the Bungalows at Poly and the Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation. So, what I would do with this room rate offer is try and book a Deluxe resort. Why is that? Well it’s where you’ll see the most bang for your buck with this offer. Basically, you’ll be getting a Deluxe room for just about the price of a Moderate room. And if you’re like me and usually book a room at the value or moderate resorts, this offer gives you the chance to consider a deluxe resort when you normally wouldn’t. But hey, that’s just me.

The second discount that was released is for your early summer dates and that offer is called “Savor Your Summer” which offers you a discount on dining during the dates of May 29th thru August 25th. And you must book before February 11th to receive this offer for those booking dates. What you will get with this offer is ONE free quick service meal per person per night with a minimum 3-night stay at select on-site resorts and a minimum 2-day base park ticket. Basically, what this means is everyone in your party that is ages 3 and up will receive one free quick service meal per night of your stay. So, if you stay the minimum 3-night stay you’ll each get a free quick service meal for every day of your stay. Now this does not mean that you have to purchase the full on quick service dining plan or any dining plan for that matter with your booking. When you book with this offer the quick service meal will be included in your overall price. Making this booking a little bit more expensive than a vacation package without a dining plan but a little cheaper than getting the full on quick service dining plan.

Now, like the other offer there are only a selected number of rooms available to book with this offer so book as soon as you can if you are interested in this offer. And this goes for any offer that is released by Disney that is within your travel dates. Also, when booking a discount or promotion you cannot combine two offers in one booking. Only one offer can be selected per booking. And the last thing that I want to note before I end the video is every year there tends to be the same discounts and promotions offered around the same time every year for select travel dates. So, if you are watching this video and you are thinking about booking a vacation in the spring or summer months for the next year, these offers will more than likely be available during that time for that particular year. And going along with that, if you have already booked a vacation and a discount or promotion becomes available for your vacation dates you can add it to your already booked vacation. In order to do that though you must either call a Disney rep or the travel agent that you initially booked with and they will be able to make this change for you.
