In this post, I’m going to talk about another runDisney event the Disney Princess Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World!

The Disney Princess Marathon takes place during the last weekend in February every year and this year it’s the 10th anniversary. This runDisney event includes a kid’s race, 5K, 10K, the Half Marathon and a run challenge called the Fairy Tale Challenge. There is also a Health and Fitness Expo that takes place in at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex throughout the whole weekend.
The first race of the weekend is on Friday and it is the Disney Princess 5K. The course takes you through EPCOT’s Future World and then into the World Showcase where along the way you’ll be able to meet Disney characters throughout the course. I mean how can you have a Princess race without meeting some Disney Princesses? Each participant will receive a 5K Finisher Medal and t-shirt, an event guide, a goody bag and personalized bib. Anyone is allowed to participate in this event as long as you are 5 years and older.
The second race of the weekend is on Saturday and it is the Disney Princess Enchanted 10K. The course takes you through EPCOT’s World Showcase and Future World and on into Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts. During the course of this race you will be able to meet Disney Princesses as you run along the course. Each participant will receive a 10K Finisher Medal and t-shirt, an event guide, a goody bag and personalized bib.
The third race of the weekend is on Sunday and that is the Disney Princess Half Marathon. The course takes you through EPCOTs Future World and World Showcase as well as all the way up through the Magic Kingdom and back to EPCOT. As a reminder, the half marathon is 13.1 miles in all. Also, along the course you will be able to meet Disney characters along your way. Each participant will receive a Half Marathon Finisher Medal and t-shirt, an event guide, a goody bag and personalized bib.
The Fairy Tale Challenge is a 19.3-mile challenge. To complete this challenge, you must participate in the 10K and the Half Marathon within the pacing requirements. If you complete the challenge you will receive a Fairy Tale Challenge finisher medal as well as a t-shirt. In order to receive the finisher medal and t-shirt for this challenge you MUST register for the challenge, you can’t just go run the two races and get the medal you have to register in order to receive them.
A few things that I want to note. You will need to register for these races by at least October in the year prior to the marathon weekend. Also, a huge thing is to dress up like a Disney Princess or any Disney character really. But being that this is the Disney Princess Marathon weekend, it’s more of a thing to dress as a Disney princess.
